On Thursday, January 26th, Mayor Eric Adams announced NYC Free Tax Prep services available to workers across the five boroughs in his State of the City Address. The program covers self-employed New Yorkers and provides free year-round income tax services to freelance workers and small businesses to help navigate tax filing, with an IRS-certified VITA/TCE volunteer preparers available to help you file. Who is eligible? Freelancers who live or work in New York City. Individuals must have earned $56,000 or less and families with dependents must have earned $80,000 or less in 2022 to file at an NYC Free Tax Prep site. When is the tax-filing deadline?
